The event kicked off with opening remarks from Dr. Leonilo B. Capulso, President and CEO of Beyond Books Publication (BBP). Capulso expressed that “Research conference and award ceremonies are vital in boosting knowledge, acknowledging achievements and promoting collaboration within educational, academic, and professional communities. These affairs are scaffolds for researchers, scholars, students, and professionals to intercommunicate their findings, network with peers and commemorate outstanding contribution to their respective area of specialization. With this, let us dig collaboration in various disciplines using the following points: promoting knowledge exchange, advocating recognition and excellence, fostering collaboration and networking, professional growth and development, and pursuing innovation and progress.”

Capulso vividly described scientific conferences as melting pots where researchers ignite knowledge exchange across disciplines. Here, ideas spark solutions, excellence is celebrated, and collaboration thrives. He envisioned them as platforms showcasing growth and a launchpad for innovation, fueling a brighter future through collective brilliance.

Setting the stage for in-depth discussions, Dr. Pratik Rajan Mungekar, Dean of CCOL, London, and an Indian luminary in science and education, shared his insights as the plenary speaker. Mungekar, renowned for his groundbreaking achievements, delivered a talk titled ‘Harnessing the Power of Knowledge: Unlocking Potential, Transforming Lives.’ He explored the foundational role of knowledge in human progress, emphasizing its ability to drive us forward, unlock our potential, and shape our future. Through real-world examples and insightful analysis, he illustrated how knowledge transforms lives and society.

Mungekar identified three pathways to elevate an educational institution from good to great: integration, innovation, and inclusion. He elaborated on each, explaining that integration fosters understanding and solutions by merging diverse perspectives, innovation requires creativity and exploring new ideas, and inclusion ensures all voices contribute to progress. Powerful examples demonstrated how these principles empower individuals and societies. He also highlighted the transformative power of mentorship, sharing how his mentor, Dr. Mashelkar, shaped his path and instilled in him a perseverance for creating positive change. This exemplified the importance of mentors in fostering future generations’ contributions to society.

Mungekar concluded by challenging participants to strive for limitless potential, stating, ‘There is no limit to human potential and achievement, except the limits we set for ourselves.’ He encouraged everyone to push their boundaries and achieve boundless success.

The Cultural Landscape: How Context Drives Richer Qualitative Research and Creative Works, Dr. Genevieve B. Kupang’s Plenary Talk

Dr. Kupang’s presentation championed cultural landscapes as a lens for richer research. Where history and environment meet, these landscapes tell stories vital for understanding diverse cultures. Researchers gain a deeper perspective on how people perceive and interact with their world, fostering cultural understanding and informing research methods. She emphasized cultural sensitivity in research, ensuring methods fit the context and collaborating with local experts. Researchers must also be aware of their own biases.  Kupang showcased her studies on the mandala arts, world religions, weaving communities, highlighting the impact of development on cultural heritage. Her message: qualitative research celebrates traditions and advocates for their preservation.

Kupang views cultural landscapes as repositories of stories that are positive, creative and transformative. Yet, war and aggressive behaviors silence these narratives and destroys lives.  Her message: cultural heritage matters. These landscapes teach us about ourselves and the world, but war and aggression silence not just stories of places, but of people. Kupang urges solutions to conflict, so future generations inherit a world where cultural landscapes can tell inspiring stories.

Dr. Leonilo Capulso presents Dr. Genevieve Balance Kupang with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her outstanding contribution as a Plenary Speaker.

Dr. Sanny Maglente, On-Site Conference Chair and Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Graduate Studies, and Research at Masbate Colleges, extends his congratulations and felicitations following a successful Day.

Dr. Sanny Maglente, the on-site conference chair, expressed his heartfelt felicitations, noting that the first day stood out for its excellence and joy-filled atmosphere.
